Biography

Prior to becoming an instructor at Keuka College, Dr. William Hopkins was employed by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision as a Deputy Superintendent for Administrative Services. He retired in August 2011 after more than 38 years of service. Dr. Hopkins completed his doctoral program in Management at the University of Phoenix in 2017. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Business and Policy Studies from the State University of New York/Empire State College and a Master of Science in Management degree from Keuka College. 

Dr. Hopkins has been teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs at Keuka College since 2008. “Teaching is something that I have always yearned to do,” he said. “I am hopeful that the doctoral studies I have completed at University of Phoenix have helped me to become a better instructor.” His hobbies include playing and recording music, learning, going to the gym, taking long walks with his wife, being with family and trying to live a healthy life. “I have tried during my career to always be helpful to those around me,” he said. “I hope to continue to do so in my second career as a college instructor.”
