Keuka College’s generous alumni and supporters traditionally march into the College’s annual Day of Giving arm in arm. This year, they’ll go head to head.
The College’s first-ever May Day Matchup on May 3 will pit the Green Team (alumni who graduated in even-numbered years) versus the Gold Team (alumni who graduated in odd-numbered years). Faculty, staff, parents, friends, and other backers of the College can likewise choose sides – based on the year they or their students joined the College, or by simply self-selecting.
“Alumni, students, parents, and friends of the College can compete to show the most school spirit while also generating support for the Keuka Fund,” says Brie Chupalio '06, M'15, the College’s Associate Director of Annual Giving. “Every dollar increases your team’s chances of winning and every gift provides necessary resources for Keuka College students. Talk about a win-win!”
The annual one-day drive supports projects that have a direct impact on students’ educational experience. Last year, more than $135,000 was raised during the 24-hour initiative.
The May Day Matchup kicks off at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, May 3, and ends at midnight that night. The team with the most dollars raised will win the challenge and its team color will be displayed prominently on campus during Green & Gold Celebration Weekend, Sept. 27-29.
“The primary goal of this event is to raise participation in the Keuka College Annual Fund, which helps to ensure our students have the best educational experience possible,” says Brie. “But this is also an opportunity to boost participation in a collective effort, show your Keuka College pride, and showcase that we ‘Believe in What We Can Do Together.’”
Gifts can be made online at keuka.edu/go/dayofgiving on or before May 3.
