For more than 21 years, Keuka College and the Yates County Chamber of Commerce have collaborated to host Celebrate Service ... Celebrate Yates (CSCY), an annual day of community service which has provided hands-on help to dozens of Yates County non-profit agencies, thanks to hundreds of volunteers from the College and local community. With support from local merchants who underwrite costs, CSCY volunteers join hands on one Sunday each April, serving collectively to meet needs of Yates County nonprofits. CSCY began as a community service initiative conceived by Keuka Circle Fellowship Scholar Tracy Swem Morgan '98 and now stands in testament to years of partnership, support, and goodwill.

There are three ways to participate: College students or community members can sign up to volunteer as an individual or as part of a larger group of volunteers, though each person must pre-register separately. Non-profits can sign up before March 29 to receive volunteers at a local work site. Sponsors can donate cash or in-kind goods and services (such as transportation, water bottles, or similar resources) to defray the costs of coordinating this single-day event. Click the buttons above to get involved!

The 2019 Annual CSCY Day of Service will be held from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday, April 28.

Student or community volunteers may enjoy brunch at the Geiser Dining Commons in Dahlstrom Student Center, from 11 a.m. - 12:50 p.m. A brief kick-off and celebration ceremony is held at 1 p.m. before volunteers leave for work sites to conduct community service from 1:30 - 4 p.m. Volunteers who pre-register by Fri. March 29, will receive a free T-shirt at check-in, and may also receive courtesy transportation to their assigned work site. Individuals or families who missed the cutoff for pre-registration may walk-in as a volunteer on the day of event and enjoy brunch prior to the community service, but will not receive a T-shirt or courtesy transportation. For more information, please contact Kathy at: [email protected]

This year's event will again include the opportunity to participate in the Bundle Up Yates collection drive. New or gently used winter wear (including coats, hats, mittens, etc.) can be donated on campus in the final two weeks leading up to CSCY on April 28 in boxes found in Hegeman Hall lakeside lobby, Keuka Commons Suite 244 and the Phillips Lounge inside Dahlstrom Student Center. The final day to donate items will be during check-in at CSCY at the Phillips Lounge.
