Field Period Resources
Field Period is an annual, self-designed experience that gives students a chance to explore their interests. Field Period can be an internship, observation, cultural experience, community service project, spiritual-based exploration, or an artistic or project-based endeavor.

About Field Period
A Field Period course proposal is made up of the learning contract and thank you letter submitted in the Handshake system for approval by your faculty evaluator, site supervisor, and then registered by the Registrar's Office
About 70% of Keuka College students do Field Period experiences during the January term; 30% do them during the summer
Experiences can be done right in your hometown or across the world
Each Field Period is worth 3 academic credits (it is possible to do two shorter experiences for 1.5 credits if you are an occupational therapy student)
Field Period requires a minimum of 140 hours — at least 120 on-site and 20 in setting up your experience and completing the reflective assignments within an e-portfolio (reflective journal, critical reflection paper, unique documentation, student and supervisor evaluations
Field Period is a pass/fail course; a passing grade shows up as an "S" for "satisfactory" on your transcript
