Ways of Giving
There are many ways of making a gift to Keuka College, each of which expresses a donor's particular interests and has distinct tax advantages. A charitable gift may be outright, providing immediate, current support to Keuka; it may be deferred, so that the donor will retain an interest in the gift property and the college's actual use of the gift is postponed; or it may be a bequest, as a part of one's estate. Moreover, a variety of assets may be appropriate for charitable gift purposes. If you have any questions that are not answered here, call 1-315-279-5262.

Outright Gifts: Outright contributions, often consisting of cash or appreciated securities are the most direct way of assisting Keuka's exemplary work and vision.
Gifts of Cash: Most gifts to Keuka are cash contributions, allowing donors to receive full tax benefits.
Gifts of Securities: A gift of appreciated securities, with publicly traded stock or from a private company, may provide greater tax advantages than gifts of cash. The donor may deduct the current fair-market value as a charitable gift and completely avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation.
Gifts of Personal Property: Contributions of tangible personal property -- including rare books, works of art, and antiques -- may provide immediate tax advantages.
The Keuka Fund: The Keuka Fund plays a vital role on subsidizing the annual budget of the College and providing much-needed student aid. Unrestricted gifts to the Keuka Fund provide the greatest flexibility in supporting day-to-day college operations.
Endowment Gifts: Funds that are donated to the College with the intention that the principal not be used, but rather be invested by the College to generate income for operations. At Keuka College, the overwhelming majority of endowed gifts are used to generate scholarship aid.
Planned Gifts: All or a portion of certain types of planned gifts may count toward the achievement of the Campaign goal. For information about Planned Gifts and The Johnson Anderson Heritage Society click on Planned Gifts.
Unrestricted versus Restricted Gifts: Throughout the years, much of Keuka's gift support has been unrestricted. This important practice permits Keuka College and the Board of Trustees greater flexibility and the ability to use such funds where they are most urgently needed and to respond to new opportunities and initiatives. Alternately, donors may choose to designate their gifts to one of the specific needs supported here at Keuka. In any event, the College will gladly comply with the wishes of the donor.
Matching Gifts: We depend on your generous support to continue the mission of Keuka College. Would you like to see your gift do twice as much for Keuka? You may be able to do just that. If you work for one of the corporations on this list your employer may match your gift to Keuka College dollar for dollar, or even more if the company name appears in italics.
