Professional Interests

Multi-age learning, multiple intelligences, differentiated learning, instructional strategies, teaching and learning, online facilitation, online learning, children's literature, assessment, literacy.


Born and raised in Flint, MI, Dr Love taught elementary school there for 27 years before retiring to work with future teachers at the university level. She has been working with future teachers both in her classroom between 1980 and 2004 and in higher education since 2002. She received her bachelor's degree in elementary education and her master's degree in Reading Literacy both from the University of Michigan and her PhD in Teaching and Learning from Capella University which is an online university so she knows what it is like to be an online student.

She loves working with future teachers and has worked in the past for several online universities and also worked at a community college in Las Vegas, NV. Although she loves Las Vegas, she moved to New York to begin her position here at Keuka College. She loves it here! She says, "Keuka College has a beautiful and small campus on the lake and I like the aspect of a small college because I can really get to know the students which is always rewarding."

Dr Love has two grown children and three grandchildren. Her son and his wife live in Michigan with three children - twin girls and a boy, and her daughter lives in Los Angeles and enjoys life.

In her spare time, you can find her curled up with a good book or enjoying a fire in the fireplace. She collects spoons (from wherever she travels) and snowmen.
