Inducted as honorary ASL members were David Boyer, criminal justice program coordinator in ASAP; Mary Ellen Griffiths, director of student accounts; and Marlaine “Sparki” Mangels, chair of the Division of Nursing.

To be inducted into ASL, a student must have completed at least 24 semester credit hours in an undergraduate degree program, be among the top 10 percent of adult learners, and maintain a minimum grade-point-average of no less than 3.2.

Established in 1946, ASL is specifically for adult learners in degree completion programs and is not open to traditional students. ASL provides a means of recognition for the special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests of home and work. ASL is the oldest and largest chapter-based honor society for full-and part-time students.
