Constitution Day

And the rest is history.
On Sept. 17, 1787, 39 delegates to the Constitutional Convention gathered in Philadelphia’s Independence Hall to sign the document they had created, the United States Constitution.
Our country commemorates this historic moment annually on Sept. 17, designated as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day.
Although the U.S. Constitution comes up in many Keuka College classes during the academic year, some faculty members elected to mark the event by giving it some special attention. One of those was Professor of History Sander Diamond, who focused on the document in his HIS 115: Europe and the World classes. You can view the lecture below.

Sander Diamond
Professor of History Sander Diamond joined the Keuka College faculty in 1968. He has penned several books, including The Nazi Movement in the United States, 1924-1941, which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in History in 1974. Diamond has written some 150 opinion pieces for regional and national newspapers. He is a recipient of Keuka’s Professor of the Year award.
