Championship volleyball is coming to Keuka College!
The Women’s Volleyball team defeated the Hartwick Hawks in a thrilling match Thursday night to earn a spot in the Empire 8 Volleyball Championship – the first Empire 8 championship contest in the College Athletics program’s history.
The number-three-seeded Wolves will take on fifth-seeded Alfred University at the RAC at 1 p.m. Saturday in what promises to be an exciting battle. Doors open at noon.
The Wolves got to the finals by doing what they’ve done much of the season: Rallying. After coming back from two sets down to defeat Alfred University to earn a postseason berth, the team again came from behind Thursday. Playing at Hartwick, the Wolves overcame a two-sets-to-one deficit to take the match – and the ticket to the championship game.
While Saturday will mark the first Empire 8 Conference Championship game for any Wolves team since Keuka College joined the conference in the fall of 2020, it will be the College’s seventh conference championship game and first since the 2012 season.
