This course examines the extent to which globalization is reshaping state-society relations, and how societies and political systems respond to the challenges and opportunities of globalization. It will have a significant emphasis on geographic skills, including understanding the fundamental relationships between human beings and the earth at different levels and in different regions. Topics include political, economic, financial, cultural, and ecological issues that cut across national boundaries.
