COM 201: Interpersonal and Group Communication Skills

Pre-requisite: COM 122 or with consent of instructor. Provides an introduction to the theory and practice of interpersonal and group communication. The course emphasizes experiential learning, as students apply theoretical concepts to a variety of interpersonal and group discussion exercises. As they become familiar with principles of communication, students will put those principles into practice, learning specific applications of communication techniques to work in group settings. Oral communication formats covered in the course include the panel discussion, symposium, and leadership of meetings. (Offered every fall semester.) (LA)(3)
