All of us at Keuka College are deeply saddened to see Cazenovia College enter the final chapter of its 200-year history. We are committed to making it as easy as possible for Cazenovia students to transfer to Keuka College for Fall 2023. We're honored Cazenovia chose to partner with us to provide students with a seamless teach-out experience.
We've put this guide together to help you understand one of the pathways available to you.
quick information
Why should I choose Keuka College?
- A Similar Campus Vibe: A lakeside campus and College community that’s similar to Cazenovia’s. In fact, Lucretia Davis Jephson and the Jephson Educational Trusts provided facilities and scholarship funds to students at both Keuka College and Cazenovia College over the years because of how similar our institutions are.
- Field Period® Program: You’ll have the opportunity to complete one Field Period® experience every year you’re at Keuka College. A Field Period® is an internship, independent project, or experience abroad that prepares you for life after College with a full resume and robust professional network.
- Similar Opportunities: From small classes to one-on-one attention from professors, to avenues for undergraduate research and more, you’ll find opportunities at Keuka College that you’ve grown accustomed to at Cazenovia.
Does Keuka College have my major?
Keuka College offers many of the same majors as Cazenovia. A complete list of majors is available here, but a list of all majors that are comparable to those offered at Cazenovia is provided near the bottom of this page.
How much will it cost to attend Keuka College?
As part of our teach-out agreement with Cazenovia College, Keuka College will meet or exceed all institutional financial aid programs you currently receive from Cazenovia, and Keuka College will extend this to you for up to four years of undergraduate study. If Keuka College offers a financial aid program that exceeds the financial aid you received at Cazenovia, you will automatically be upgraded and receive the additional aid.
This means it will never cost you more to earn your degree at Keuka College than you paid at Cazenovia.
Can I still earn my degree on time?
Yes. Provided you’re transferring into one of the programs articulated in our teach-out agreement, you will still graduate on your current timeline so long as you maintain satisfactory academic progress at Keuka College.
Of course, you also have the option of changing your major to anything that Keuka College offers. If you decide to do this, we’ll make every effort to ensure you can still graduate on time. An admissions counselor or academic advisor can help you plan this out if it’s something you’re interested in.
Can I live on campus?
Yes. Keuka College has capacity in its residence halls to accommodate Cazenovia College students. Keuka College will also offer a Wildcats Special Interest Housing community. Participating in this community is optional and it will be open only to students who transfer from Cazenovia. If you select to live in this community, you’ll be housed on the same floor as other Cazenovia students.
Can my current Caz roommate and I live together at Keuka College?
Absolutely. If both students opt to complete their degree at Keuka College, you may request to room together.
Does Keuka College allow Emotional Support Animals (ESAs)?
Yes. Keuka College allows a variety of ESAs in our residence halls, provided the ESA has been approved.
Can I visit Keuka College?
Keuka College provides a number of campus visit opportunities, ranging from winter open house events to personalized visits during the week and on weekends. Our Visit Campus page provides a variety of options for you to choose from.
Are there athletic opportunities?
Absolutely. Keuka College offers 16 intercollegiate varsity athletics. If you're interested in playing, you can fill out a recruit form, let us know on your application, or contact a coach directly.
Is there a chance my professors could work at Keuka College next year?
Keuka College has openings for administrative and support staff positions as well as a number of tenure- and non-tenure-track faculty positions in business, criminal justice, psychology, and more.
The College warmly welcomes any of Cazenovia’s talented faculty and staff to submit their candidacy. Those with questions may contact Brad Fuster, provost and vice president for academic affairs, directly at [email protected].
